How to Get Rid of Ants Safely

www.nutritionalchoice.net Holistic Nutrition Consultant, Karen Roth, MS, NC discusses safe alternative to insecticides for controlling ants. Today Im going to talk about something not totally related to food expect on how we can use certain foods to control an ant problem. With summer on its way, and hot weather driving ants inside, many of you have commented to me that you are so frustrated with all the ants. And that you have to use an exterminator regularly, and even spray inside your home. But what I wanted to share today was an alternative to ridding your home of ants with out the use of harmful insect repellents. Because using these harmful pesticides especially indoors creates invisible air pollution. And with us having our windows shut and air conditioning on, those chemicals linger in the air for a long time. Plus if you are spraying directly on say your kitchen counter, there is going to be spill off or misting off onto other areas that you may later lay your food on, or say it trickles down to the floor and then your pet comes along and eats something off the floor. Pesticides may contribute to infertility, birth defect, learning disorder and cancer. So I dont want to scare you, but I want you to know that you have alternatives for eliminating those irritating ants. If you notice that your ants are coming in from a specific area like the kitchen window, sprinkle some powdered cinnamon. This creates a barrier that they wont cross. Now if you come home and you …

What is Sotol ?

WHAT IS SOTOL ? Sotol is not tequila. It stands out from the rest in its own category. Sotol comes from a different agavacea found only in the northern part of Mexico. Just as we have three main sources for scotch whiskey which are highlands, lowlands and islay we find that in Mexico we have three main sources for agavacea spirits; Oaxaca for Mezcal, Jalisco for Tequila and Chihuahua for SOTOL. Sotol has three main differences towards tequila. It is WILD HARVESTED instead of being cultivated. IT comes from THE CHIHUAHUAN DESERT thus the plant is much smaller than that used for tequila and yields only 1 bottle per fifteen year old plant. It is 100% organic, pure, natural, no herbicides, no insecticides; KOSHER PASSOVER CERTIFIED. One full 15-year-old plant per bottle. As soon as you uncork it you’ll notice that it has a very unique full-wild agavacea aroma not found in any tequila. Sotol Hacienda de Chihuahua, as unique as you are.
