What is Sotol ?

WHAT IS SOTOL ? Sotol is not tequila. It stands out from the rest in its own category. Sotol comes from a different agavacea found only in the northern part of Mexico. Just as we have three main sources for scotch whiskey which are highlands, lowlands and islay we find that in Mexico we have three main sources for agavacea spirits; Oaxaca for Mezcal, Jalisco for Tequila and Chihuahua for SOTOL. Sotol has three main differences towards tequila. It is WILD HARVESTED instead of being cultivated. IT comes from THE CHIHUAHUAN DESERT thus the plant is much smaller than that used for tequila and yields only 1 bottle per fifteen year old plant. It is 100% organic, pure, natural, no herbicides, no insecticides; KOSHER PASSOVER CERTIFIED. One full 15-year-old plant per bottle. As soon as you uncork it you’ll notice that it has a very unique full-wild agavacea aroma not found in any tequila. Sotol Hacienda de Chihuahua, as unique as you are.
