I have a dog that I have been giving her a bath with Dawn dish detergent. It kills them on contact, maybe this will work for you as well. Also- I found that a dryer sheet rubbed where the fleas attack sends them away as well. This is also good for a Mosquito repellant, temporary but helpful. Hope this works for you. gibsongirl1949

The Doctors Book of Home Remedies says us Avon’s Skin-So-Soft. Mix 1.5 ounces of Skin-So-Soft with 1 gallon of water. It says that fleas have a keen sense of smell and don’t like the smell of S.O.S. It also says you can add it to your cats flea dip or bath and it will help it too and give the coat a glossy sheen

Frequent baths with soapy water should paralyze and remove many fleas. Aromatherapy oils such as cedar, pennyroyal, citronella, lemongrass, rue, eucalyptus have a repellent effect- can be diluted in carrier oil and applied to man and animal or are available in various commercial products. Diatomaceous earth (made from fine fossilized remains of diatoms- hard-shelled algae) or a mild pyrethrum (from chrysanthemum flowers) dust are good control measures in the home. A flea trap with a lamp and glue pads can be purchased, or a small lamp placed directly over a bowl of soapy water will attract, trap, and drown them. —As for internal controls there are drugs for animals such as Program and Capstar that can kill/prevent fleas but little to no scientific evidence exists- nor have I seen in personal experience- much benefit from the consumption of garlic (fresh, cooked, or in tablets) or zinc supplements in repelling fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, chiggers or anything else.
