Buffy – Reaction to Liquid applied Flea control from Luci
Buffy and Luci play and wrestle with each other and Buffy jumps on Luci’s back when they play. They both hug each other around their necks right where you’re supposed to apply the liquid treatment. We didn’t think anything about it until 4 or 5 hours later Buffy was twitching her head and mouth and her eyes were really big. I searched "twitching in cats" on Google and found all types of info where cats had been overdosed or ingested these liquid treatments and one video show a cat doing exactly like what Buffy was doing. Info also said to bath with Blue Dawn to remove the treatment so we did that then took her to an Animal ER. They started an IV with liquids and a muscle relaxer to stop the convulsing and to bring her temperature down and kept her overnight. We picked her up this morning (5/30) at 9am and she was fine. The convulsing had stopped earlier that night and she was eating at midnight. Most of the liquid applied flea and tick treatments for dogs and cats are nothing more than insecticides and are not good being absorbed into your pets skin and they are also HAZARDOUS TO HUMANS!! We will only use Natural Products from now on!! Buffy is 100% recovered with no side effects and back to normal!! Revolution was used on Buffy as given to us by our Vet. Luci had Frontline which contains fipronil and is a manufactured insecticide. We’re pretty sure it was the Frontline that caused the reaction to Buffy and not the Revolution even though we will not be using anything <b>…</b>
