Community Trincheras School in Camoapa, Nicaragua will soon be a model example of rural school food security. Elisa Estrada and past Farmer to Farmer volunteers have helped the community start gardens for raising food for the children. The next farmer to farmer volunteers will help with establishing more gardens, seed saving, natural insecticides, and chickens/egg raising. The school gets rice, beans and tortillas from the government subsidy program, but no fruit, vegetables, eggs, or other protein sources. This video is to assist future FTF volunteers.
